Marc Jacobs hasn't always been a big fan of British model Cara Delevingne: the designer once snapped that Cara looked like a "dwarf" when he saw her at a practice run of his Marc Jacobs show. Cara was taken to the practice by Jacobs’s stylist and Love magazine editor Katie Grand. She explains that at first Jacobs wasn't fond of Cara because she is shorter than an average model:
“I suppose it came about because we’d had a run-in with her in the train season at Vuitton a/w12. I was trying to get her in the show, but it was the show in which everyone was very tall, and very long. I remember Marc looking at me and saying, ‘Why is that dwarf in here?’ and me being devastated.”
Luckily, Katie helped Cara get her start and soon Jacobs changed his mind, casting her for several of his Marc Jacobs and Louis Vuitton shows. She has since appeared nude on a Marc Jacobs charity t-shirt, cementing her status as a muse for the designer.
